Create a WhatsApp link
Type your number and a ready message, and we'll build the wa.me link customers tap to message you. No sign-up needed.
What is a WhatsApp link?
A link starting with wa.me opens a chat with you in the WhatsApp of whoever taps it, with your ready message already in the text box. They don't need to save your number. It's used to take orders or bookings from your Instagram bio, stories and website.
Step by step
- Type your number: 0532 111 22 33, 532 111 22 33 or +90 532 111 22 33 all work.
- Type the message that opens the chat. Leave it empty and the chat opens empty.
- Create the link, copy it and tap it on your own phone to test: WhatsApp should open.
- Put the link in your bio, your story or your website.
How to write the ready message
The message is the first sentence the customer sends you, so let it say what they want. Instead of “Hello”, write “Hello, I'd like to order a takeaway” or “Hello, I'm asking about availability this weekend”. Keep it short: the customer can edit it before sending, but most send it as it is. Turkish characters and emoji are fine; the link carries them correctly.
To tell where a customer is writing from, vary the messages slightly: “I'm writing from Instagram” on the bio button, “I'm writing from your brochure” on the brochure's QR code.
Why WhatsApp links stall on Instagram
Instagram opens the links in your bio in its own little browser. There a wa.me link often shows a web page first; the customer has to tap once more to reach the chat, and some give up right there.
A WhatsApp link shortened with linqs cuts that step short: on Android WhatsApp opens in one tap, and on iPhone the WhatsApp app is tried first. Your dashboard also shows how many people tapped it.
An order button on your bio page
The link you make here works on its own. On linqs the WhatsApp order button becomes the first button of your bio page: you type your number and message once, the button sits at the top of your page, and its clicks are counted day by day. Your menu, location and shop sit on the same page, at the same address.
How do you know how many people messaged you?
A wa.me link does not tell you how often it was opened. Shorten it with linqs and every tap counts as a click, day by day and with the app it came from. Make the bio button and the story link separate short links, and you can compare which brings in more messages.
Where to use it
- In your Instagram and TikTok bio, as an order button.
- In stories and posts, instead of “Message us for details”.
- In your Google Business Profile, on your website and in your email signature.
- On brochures, business cards and tables, inside a QR code: Create a QR code
Frequently asked questions
Do I need WhatsApp Business?
No. The link works the same whether your number is on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.
Is my number visible to everyone?
Yes. A wa.me link contains your number, and the customer sees it once the chat opens; that is how they can message you.
Does the link expire? Does it cost anything?
No. wa.me is WhatsApp's own address; it is free and does not expire. This tool is free too, and needs no sign-up.
Can I change the message later?
In a wa.me link the message is part of the link, so changing it means creating a new link. With a linqs short link you change the target in your dashboard and the address you shared stays the same.
Does it work for a number outside Turkey?
Yes: type the number with its country code, for example +44. For Turkish numbers you can leave out the leading 0 or +90.
