Create a QR code
Type your web address and download a print-ready QR code as PNG or SVG. Free, no sign-up, and the code never expires.
Static and changeable QR codes
This tool makes a static QR code: the code carries the address you typed. It has no expiry, depends on no server, and keeps working even if linqs closed. In exchange the address cannot change; if your menu's link changes, you reprint the code on the table.
A changeable (dynamic) QR code carries a short link such as linqs.live/menu instead. The code stays the same; you change where the link goes from your dashboard. In your linqs account you can download the QR code of every link and of your bio page, and every scan counts as a click.
Where it helps
- Café and restaurant tables: your menu, WhatsApp ordering or your review page.
- Shop window and till: your Instagram account, your shop or your campaign page.
- Business cards, brochures and packaging: your bio page or website, in one code.
- Stays and events: booking, location and contact details.
QR codes for menus and tables
In cafés and restaurants the most common use is the menu code on the table. If your menu can change, point the code at a linqs short link rather than straight at the PDF: when prices change you upload the new PDF and change the link's target, and the codes on the tables stay the same.
Next to the code, say what it does, for example “Scan for the menu” or “Scan to order on WhatsApp”. People scan more when they know what will happen.
PNG or SVG?
A PNG is a picture: it opens directly on a phone, in WhatsApp and in programs like Canva or Word. An SVG is a drawing: it does not blur when enlarged, which makes it the right file for print shops, signs and printed menus. If you are not sure, download both; both are free.
Five tips for print
- Print the code at least 2 × 2 cm, larger if it will be scanned from a distance.
- Dark code, light background. Some phones cannot read inverted or low-contrast codes.
- Leave space around the code; the file you download already includes it.
- Choose SVG for print; it stays sharp at any size. PNG is enough for sharing on screen.
- Before printing, scan it with two different phones.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. A code you download here carries the address itself; it has no expiry and no subscription. The code works for as long as the address does.
Does it cost anything? Do I need to sign up?
No. You download a static QR code free and without signing up. For a changeable code and scan counts, a free linqs account is enough.
Can I see how many people scanned it?
Not with a static code. Make the code from a linqs short link and every scan counts as a click, shown day by day in your dashboard.
Can I change where a printed code goes later?
Not with a static code. With the QR code of a short link in your linqs account, yes: you change the target in your dashboard and the printed code goes to the new address.
What happens when the code is scanned?
The phone's camera shows the address; a tap opens it in the phone's own browser. Since it never passes through Instagram's browser, logins and saved details are all there.
Can I add a logo or colours?
This tool makes black-and-white codes, because those scan most easily. Some phones struggle with coloured codes or codes with a logo in the middle.
Which addresses can I turn into a code?
Any web address that starts with http or https. You can leave out the https:// part; we add it. For WhatsApp, first create a WhatsApp link: Create a WhatsApp link
